I have known Dean Uzo for well over a decade and I have had many interactions with her while she was Dean at African Leadership Academy in Johannesburg, South Africa. My five sons passed through ALA from 2010 to 2022 and four of them had the privilege of being mentored by Dean Uzo. Uzo has the rare gift of problem solving in a way that brings out the best outcome even in the most challenging situations. Whether she is dealing with Teenagers or Adults, she engages fully with the situation at hand and ultimately brings out the best in them. More recently, she facilitated the annual retreat of the Board of Trustees of Pegasus Schools Eket, which spanned over 2 days in the beautiful city of Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State in Nigeria. Uzo's in-depth knowledge of Governance, Team dynamics and Wellbeing was clearly demonstrated in her well delivered sessions and activities. She was rated as an excellent resource person and presenter by the BOT . She also visited our beautiful campus in Eket and held a town house meeting with the Student Leadership Team. As expected, her brief interaction resulted in a more passionate and dynamic team. We look forward to more interactions in the near future.
